The event series organized by the RSU Sports Healthcare Research Centre serves as a platform for knowledge exchange, the fostering of collaboration, and the professional development of researchers. We invite scientists, students, professionals from the healthcare and sports sectors, and international experts to discuss the latest advancements and challenges in the research of human movement, health, and performance.

This event series supports the development of the priority research area of RSU, Human Performance, Rehabilitation, and Healthy Lifespan, while strengthening the Research Centre’s core areas of expertise: movement science, sports biomechanics, motor control, and physical performance.

The programme includes seminars, guest lectures, methodological workshops, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing events, all designed to promote interdisciplinary collaboration, the development of new research ideas, and the establishment of international scientific networks.

Seminar 'From Motor Control to Smart Movement Analysis Technologies'

The seminar aims to promote the exchange of knowledge and experience in human movement analysis, motor control, and smart sensor technologies, highlighting recent research approaches and their practical applications in sports science and healthcare.

Two invited speakers from Japan will share their expertise: Tatsuya Hayashi, a PhD student at Osaka University, will explore the interplay of psychological, cognitive, and biomechanical factors in motor control and their relevance to sports injury prevention. Yuki Uno, Project Research Associate at Keio University and Chief Research Officer at ORPHE Inc., will introduce smart shoe technologies and their applications in sports rehabilitation and movement assessment for people with Parkinson’s disease. Participants will also have the opportunity to experience a live demonstration of ORPHE Inc.’s smart shoe technology.

The event is intended for researchers, academic staff, students, and other interested participants with an interest in human movement science and modern movement analysis methods. It offers an opportunity to gain new insights, explore innovative technologies, exchange ideas, and establish international research connections, while supporting the development of human movement analysis research at the RSU Sports Healthcare Research Centre.
