On 6 December, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) received a special award for growth at the Latvian Sustainable Governance Awards 2023 ceremony at the Bank of Latvia. RSU was praised for its contribution to sustainable governance and growth, as well as for improving corporate governance and ensuring that the University's activities are in line with the defined values. The event honoured Latvian companies that have demonstrated excellence in the different award categories and discussed different aspects of sustainable management.
The information submission stage for the Health Care study direction implemented at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) has been successfully completed – RSU has submitted documents for evaluation to the Quality Agency for Higher Education and received a visit by a group of international accreditation experts.
The international Erasmus+ Skills Tracking System as a Digital Solution for Student-Centred Learning project has come to an end with a seminar titled "Lecturer. Self-Directed Learning. Student." Representatives from the education and healthcare sectors attended the seminar.
Laura Līpenīte, a 6th-year student in the Paediatrics study programme at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Faculty of Medicine, is characterised by her inexhaustible energy, perseverance, and ability to take initiative. She is an excellent student and combines her studies with work at the hospital.
The Vertically Integrated Project (VIP) programme complements the study process at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU). The programme provides students with a great opportunity to learn the necessary skills to become a researcher and gain research experience. Since the autumn semester 2019, six VIP teams have been working at RSU.
Aleksandra Bule will defend her doctoral dissertation on 21 December at 15:00 in an open meeting of the RSU degree committee of Basic Sciences of Medicine, including Pharmacy. His dissertation is titled 'Colistin Use Pattern and Nephrotoxicity in Critically Ill Patients with Carbapenem-Resistant Gram-Negative Bacterial Infections'.
The Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Student Union (Studējošo pašpārvalde, SP) elections took place on 22 November at which the new board for 2024 was elected.
