Almost 300 Students and Staff Members Represented RSU at this Year's Riga Marathon

On 7 May, the annual Rimi Riga Marathon took place. Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) was represented in large numbers. This year, 334 runners from RSU signed up for the marathon and 292 of them took part in the race, covering a total distance of 3,831 km.

As in previous years, the highest number of participants entered the 21 km and 10 km races, with 91 and 77 participants respectively. 20 participants ran the full marathon, while 62 participants ran the 5 km distance.

Kārlis Piģēns will defend his doctoral dissertation in an online open meeting of the RSU Law Degree Committee on 21 June. His dissertation is titled 'Ownership Features and Developments in the Use of Subterranean Depths in the Republic of Latvia'.

Seven RSU Lecturers Will Receive Highest State Decorations

Egils Levits, the President of Latvia, and the Chapter of Orders will award 79 members of society with the highest state decorations. State decorations are presented to those citizens who have served their country and its people through exceptional and selfless professional and social work. Among them are seven lecturers from Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU).

Members of the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Alumni Association are invited to attend a general meeting on Friday, 19 May, at 15.30.

The aim of the general meeting is to look back at the events of the past year and to discuss the most important moments in the life of an RSU alumni.

Robert West, Professor of Psychology at University College London, shares his view on the dangers of oversimplification and the future of behavioural science: 'I would like to be optimistic and believe that we will see a golden age of behavioural science.' Further, he also illustrates the different applications of behavioural science, and the career opportunities that a degree in health communication can open up.
