The educational organisation Junior Achievement Latvia, the pharmaceutical company Novartis Baltics and the academic partners Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU), Riga Technical University (RTU) and RTU Riga Business School have joined forces to develop the first medical technology innovation pre-accelerator for students in Latvia.
Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty (DMEK) is a type of corneal transplant that has gained popularity for many surgeons in treating specific cases of corneal endothelial failure. DMEK offers early rehabilitation with the best outcomes in terms of visual acuity (VA), that is the ability of the eye to distinguish shapes and the details of objects at a given distance. It is minimally invasive and has a low immunological rejection rate, which is why corneal surgeons favour using it.
Even though there was little information to come by about COVID-19 in children in the early days of the pandemic, researchers from Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) and a group of researchers from the Children's Clinical University Hospital (CCUH) joined forces as early as the summer of 2020 to study how patients under the age of 18 recover from SARS-CoV-2 and what the long-term consequences are.

Interdisciplinary scientific research in the field of forensic expertise development is being carried out as part of the project.
Due ot the pandemic, the State Blood Donor Centre (SBDC) will not be organising a blood drive to Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) for the second year in a row. Instead, the university is urging everyone to donate blood themselves, by visiting the SBDC clinic on 9 Sēlpils iela or at other blood donation sites. In order to help doctors save the lives of critically ill patients, SBDC will organise 50 blood drives in December and people to become blood donors!
Science Month 2021, which is organised by the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Student Union (SP, Studējošo pašpārvalde), took place throughout October, offering a wide range of events. There was no shortage of educational and informative activities, as well as creative, social, and competitive events.

The elections for the new Council of the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Student Union (SP, Studējošo pašpārvalde) took place from 25 October to 12 November. During the elections, all RSU students had the opportunity to apply to become a member of the council and vote for candidates from their faculty.
The elections for the new board of the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Student Union (SP, Studējošo pašpārvalde) took place on 24 November. They were held both online and in person this year.
