The Ministry of Health (reg. No. 90001474921) has announced a competition for several positions of Member of the Riga Stradiņš University (RSU) Council nominated by the Cabinet of Ministers (five positions for a four-year term).

Why don’t we choose to put pasta or dumplings on the table at Christmas, and why would Jāņi not be Jāņi without beer and cheese? Why do we drink champagne on New Year’s Eve and have cake on our birthday?
Anger, intolerance, self-righteousness, and rudeness have long been sadly prevalent in people’s attitude towards one another, and not just in Latvia. Researchers have conducted several studies on the consequences of rude behaviour; niceness and civility are also important in medicine. The conclusion is that civility improves medical personnel’s work, enhances their performance, improves treatment outcomes, and reduces the number of medical errors. In other words, civility saves lives!

Since autumn, the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Student Union (SP, Studējošo pašpārvalde), the RSU Department of Information Technology and the RSU Communications Department have been working intently on developing the new RSU student portal in cooperation with Campus M. Although the portal’s development process is almost completed, practical usage tests are still being run.
Work on the new portal was launched in order to modernise and adapt it to the latest digital trends and make functional and visual improvements to facilitate usage.
Joining forces, students from Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) and Riga Technical University (RTU) are developing a prototype of an air purifier and disinfection robot to autonomously improve indoor air quality.
The elections for the new board of the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) International Student Association (ISA) took place on 10 November. The elections were held online this year.
Mohamed Naleef Ahamed Mazhar (pictured), a 5th-year medicine student, was re-elected as the President of RSU ISA for 2022. This will be his third year on the RSU ISA Board having previously been the President in 2021 and the Liaison Officer in 2020.
At the end of November, a decision on accrediting the Management, Administration and Real Estate Management study direction was taken at the meeting of the Study Quality Committee of the Quality Agency for Higher Education. The study direction was accredited for six years, which is the maximum term.
