The Anatomy Nights event will take place on Valentine's Day, 14 February, at Autentika. At the event the Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Museum of Anatomy will demonstrate how the heart - an organ shrouded in pop culture and legend - is built. The purpose of the event is to bring anatomy to a wider audience.

Participants must be 18 years!

As Valentine's Day approaches, the universal symbol of love - the red heart - can be seen everywhere, but the heart strings, the heartbeat and other matters pertaining to the heart remain invisible. Until now! The RSU Anatomy Museum will give a lecture in Autentika in Rīga where you will be able to watch a dissection performed on an animal heart by lecturer Marika Garnizone from the RSU Medicine faculty.

The event is hosted by the RSU Museum of Anatomy as part of the international Anatomy Nights initiative, which will this year be held in 15 locations around the world, including Australia, USA, Canada, New Zealand and the UK.

All proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the ParSirdi.lv Patient Association, which brings together patients with cardiovascular diseases, their relatives and supporters.
