Rector Election

The Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) Rector is elected every five years. The RSU Rector is elected by the University's Constitutional Assembly that consists of 130 people - 78 representatives of academic staff, 26 representatives of administrative staff, and 26 students. The candidate that receives more than half of the votes by those present is elected Rector.

The previous rector elections took place on 23 November 2022, and the RSU Constitutional Assembly, in accordance with the RSU Rector Election Regulations, elected Professor Aigars Pētersons to the office of rector for a five-year term. The next rector election is scheduled for the fall of 2027.
