About Study Course
Objective
To provide students with in-depth knowledge of basic concepts, theories, models and scope of professional activity of clinical psychology. Develop understanding of norm conditionality, development of mental health and disorders in a biopsychosocial perspective, as well as basic principles of clinical psychology research, evaluation and assistance methods. At the same time, promote the ability to critically analyse and interpret clinical cases.
Prerequisites
Personality psychology, Development psychology.
Learning outcomes
1.Students explain terminology of clinical psychology; describe the manifestations of mental disorders and their formation process
in the context of the biopsychosocial model; define aspects of mental health; analyse the effects of stress on mental health; describe methods of clinical psychology research (evaluation) and assistance; describes the classification of modern personality disorders; explains the types and stages of crises.
1.Students use clinical psychology terminology correctly and analyse clinical cases in the context of a biopsychosocial model,
identifying the manifestations, risks and protective factors of mental disorders. They differentiate between signs of mental health and psychopathology, analyze the effects of stress on mental health. Students describe and rightly choose methods of clinical psychology research and assistance, as well as navigate the classification of modern personality disorders. Equally, they recognise the stages of crises and trauma outbursts.
1.Students analyse clinical cases in a reasoned manner, identifying the client’s problems, difficulties and functional characteristics. They determine the relationship between symptoms, their possible causes and maintenance factors in a biopsychosocial view.
