Objective

To promote the in-depth acquisition of theoretical and practical knowledge about the etiology and development mechanisms of skin diseases in the human body, linking them with clinical manifestations, fundamental approaches to treatment, and possibilities for specific and etiological therapy.

Prerequisites

Anatomy, histology, physiology, pathological anatomy, pathological physiology, biochemistry, microbiology, propaedeutics, internal diseases, pharmacology, dermatology and venereology.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.After completing the study course, students will be able to classify, formulate, and describe hair and nail disorders, assess and justify them from a differential diagnosis perspective; systematize current issues in pediatric dermatology and therapeutic options; systematize skin pigmentation disorders and their treatment options; recognize and formulate dermatoses in patients with darker skin tones; and systematize the latest available medications in dermatology.

Skills

1.To assess the health status of the patient’s skin; distinguish between symptoms of various skin, hair and nail diseases; establish a blueprint for differential diagnostic medical operations; a detailed and targeted identification of the history; perform dermatological examinations; check specific symptoms; to interpret and analyse the acquired medical facts and results; diagnosis; identify therapy tactics for various skin, hair and nail diseases in a particular patient; engage professionally with patients, colleagues in the field of dermatological disease diagnosis, differential diagnosis, treatment and prevention, in compliance with medical ethical norms and patient rights.

Competence

1.Take responsibility for their studies independently; act as a health promoter in the context of public and individual prevention of skin, hair and nail diseases; to assume organisational and administrative responsibility in the selection of cost efficient dermatological disease diagnosis and treatment algorithms.
