Objective

To develop students' understanding of the types of psychological tests and surveys, concepts of psychometrics, stages of development and adaptation of tests and surveys, to provide students with the opportunity to acquire knowledge of psychometrics and theoretical issues of instrument development and adaptation, to provide the opportunity to develop or adapt a test or survey by independently planning and implementing a pilot study and evaluating its results, as well as to develop students’ skills in using SPSS program in practical classes.

Prerequisites

Basic statistics.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.Student defines and explains basic concepts of psychometrics, measurement scales, reliability and validity criteria for tests and surveys.

Skills

1.Use the terminology acquired in the study course.

Competence

1.Ability to expertly perform the adaptation/construction of the test/survey in a new cultural environment in accordance with psychometric principles.
