About Study Course
Objective
To discover and analyse the link of the knowledge acquired during the study with the practical work of a dental hygienist in oral health education and promotion.
Prerequisites
Preventive Dentistry, Periodontology, Cariology
Learning outcomes
Students will know the principles and approaches of oral health promotion and education, as well as dietary recommendations related to dental caries and dental erosions.
Oral health needs assessment. Public health approaches to dental injury prevention and smoking cessation programs.
Students will be able to evaluate the attitudes and knowledge of children and young people about the possibilities of promoting oral health.
Provide dietary recommendations for dental caries and dental erosions, evaluate feeding systems in kindergartens and schools.
Take preventive measures and provide acute assistance in cases of dental injuries. Use of non-smoking and smoking cessation programs.
Evaluate principles, approaches of oral health promotion and education. c preventive programmes and strategies opposite to treatment regimen in dentistry.
