Objective

To ensure acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in electroencephalography.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of the basic principles of EEG and its investigation methods and analysis of the obtained data, indications of performing EEG for the diagnosis of nervous system diseases. Interpreting the results of clinical and EEG examinations, is able to analyse them and draw conclusions.

Skills

1.Uses the results of EEG and its diagnostic methods in solving neurological problems, is able to independently interpret EEG data for diagnosis of diseases and damage of the nervous system and assessment of state dynamics. Does this independently and/or under the supervision of a certified specialist, performs practical manipulations provided for in the programme.
The skills to be acquired can be realized both in study course I and II, reaching the total number (the number indicated applies to both years combined).

Competence

1.Formulates the choice of EEG diagnostic methods for the diagnosis of nervous system diseases and damage syndromes, critically analyses and interprets the results of examination methods, integrates the knowledge acquired in the neuroinstrumental diagnostic study course in the development and expansion of the neurologist’s speciality competence.
