About Study Course
Objective
To provide an opportunity to learn emergency maxillofacial traumatology in depth, so that emergency medicine doctors are able to examine a patient with a maxillofacial injury, perform stabilization of vital functions and provide emergency medical assistance at the stage of pre-hospital and hospital reception departments.
Learning outcomes
1.The student will know:
1. Outline the clinical and radiological diagnosis of injuries.
2. Formulate the principles of providing emergency medical aid at the stage of pre-hospital and hospital admission department.
3. To define the principles of casualty sorting and evacuation in mass accidents with many victims.
1.To perform primary assessment of the injured person (ABCDE algorithm).
2. To use modes of transportation of the trauma patient according to the indications.
3. To perform transport immobilization of various types.
4. To use bandages.
5. To perform emergency bleeding control.
6. To perform primary wound treatment and to suture wounds.
7. To perform secondary examination of the injured patient.
8. To interpret radiological examination of the trauma patient.
9. To classify the victims by severity of the injury.
1.Competences - the ability to examine a patient with a face-jaw injury, to stabilize vital functions and to provide emergency medical aid at the stage of pre-hospital and hospital reception departments before the arrival of the face-jaw surgeon.
