About Study Course
Objective
To acquire knowledge about the following:
- public health (concept, definition) as a sub-branch of medicine;
- the goals, tasks and priorities of public health;
- general hygiene. Environment and man. Environmental factors and impact thereof on human health;
- Environmental quality indicators and principles of the assessment thereof.
Learning outcomes
1.Using the acquired knowledge and understanding, the student will be able:
- to define and explain the concept and definition of public health;
- to describe and explain the goals, tasks and priorities of public health;
- to present knowledge of general hygiene and environmental factors and impact thereof on human health;
- physical pollution of the environment (noise, EMF, vibration);
- air as a component of the environment, air protection, air-related risk factors, air quality assessment principles;
- water as a component of the environment, water protection, principles of quality and safety assessment, including hygiene of drinking water supply, and risk factors related to water supply.
1.The student will be able:
- to observe and assess the state of public health, the physical and social environment;
- to identify and analyse public health risk factors and options for the prevention thereof.
1.- to assess environmental risk factors, develop measures to prevent the impact of environmental risk factors on people’s living conditions and health.
