Objective

1) To give an insight into the archive semiotics and to introduce the principles and methods of information preservation in the cultural-historical context. 2) To give an insight into the specifics of electronic media in the information age.

• Describe electronic media formats, essence, typology, theoretical views.
• Tell and describe the history and modern development processes of electronic media formats and archives.
• Analyse the interaction between the functionality of electronic media formats and the user.
• Set out the aims and methods of research in electronic media formats in different areas of communication.

• Ability to evaluate phenomena and effects of electronic media formats.
• Ability to analyse examples and authors of electronic media formats.
• Skills to integrate electronic media formats in multimedia communication process.
