Foundations of Psychobiology (VPUPK_392)
About Study Course
Objective
The aim of the course is to develop students’ understanding of the systems of the human body and their interaction with psychological functions; develop skills and competences to apply acquired knowledge to explain and characterise the anatomical structures and physiological processes of the body in the context of psychobiology.
Prerequisites
Not necessary.
Learning outcomes
1.Student/- e uses the terminology of psychobiology after taking the course, describes and explains the molecular and cellular mechanisms of nervous system (NS) activity.
1.Student/- e applies the acquired knowledge to identify the neurophysiological and organism functioning processes underlying the behaviour by performing analysis for psychobiology-relevant publications, as well as systematising the acquired knowledge by developing a presentation in the group.
1.Student/- e develops an individual work integrating acquired knowledge and skills, in which he chooses literature appropriate to psychobiology, interprets the functioning of the organism’s systems in the context of psychological functions and concludes on specific biological processes underlying the psyche.
