Objective

To ensure the acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in general surgery, in accordance with the requirements of the face and jaw specialty regulations, in order to prepare the doctor for certification in the specialty of mouth, face and jaw surgery.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.Know: acute etiology, pathogenesis, symptoms, diagnosis, differential diagnosis, conservative and surgical treatment indications of acute surgical diseases, as well as treatment methods (operations). Acute abdominal etiology, pathogenesis, symptoms, diagnosis, differential diagnosis, surgical treatment tactics. Etiology, pathogenesis, symptoms, diagnosis, differential diagnosis, surgical treatment tactics of acute bleeding in the abdominal cavity. Modern diagnostic methods of radiology in the abdominal cavity. Laparoscopic abdominal surgery.

Skills

1.Is able to
- assess the clinical manifestations of the disease and further tactics.
- investigate patients with surgical pathology.
- plan the necessary investigations in various surgical diseases.
- interpret clinical findings, radiological and endoscopic examinations results.
- provide emergency care patients with acute surgical pathology.
During the course perform the following manipulations:
Rectal examination (5x)
Wound dressing (20x)
Primary surgical care of wounds (5x)
Surgical sutures (5x)
The opening purulent inflammation (3x)
to assist in operations (20x)

Competence

1.Using the knowledge, to provide the qualified emergency care for surgical patients.
The resident should be oriented in the selection of treatment options for surgical patients. The ability to analyze surgical pathology in the abdominal cavity, perform a clinical examination, select the necessary examinations: laboratory and radiological, based on them, send to a specialist of the appropriate profile.
