Objective

Provide students with knowledge of ageing processes and their effects on oral health, develop skills to recognise and assess the specific needs of elderly patients, and develop professional attitudes and competences to ensure quality dental hygiene care for seniors, promoting their quality of life and health

Prerequisites

Periodiodontology, public health and prevention, therapeutic stomatology (cariology, endodontics), patient communication, general and oral pathology, emergency medical care, dental prosthesis, dental surgery.

1.Understand the biological, psychological and social aspects of ageing.

1.Able to assess the oral health status of elderly patients.

1.Able to independently and responsibly plan and perform dental hygiene care for seniors.
