About Study Course
Objective
Familiarise yourself with health promotion and prevention options for physiotherapists at different stages of age,
Prerequisites
Basic Physiotherapy, Sports for Health, Sports Medicine, Physiotherapy in Orthopaedics, Neurology and other diseases.
Learning outcomes
1.Student will acquire an understanding of health promotion opportunities, basic principles and assessment of needs from the perspective of a physiotherapist; know and be able to describe potential barriers and contributing factors to health promotion and prevention; will be able to describe the steps in the development of health promotion and prevention measures and their feasibility by using the methods available to the physiotherapist, will see and be able to justify the client’s own role in health promotion and disease prevention, will be able to justify the role of physical activity in the promotion of health and make an appropriate choice thereof.
1.Recognise and be able to assess health promotion and prevention needs, develop health promotion and prevention programmes; recognise health promotion barriers and contributing factors; will be able to plan and implement implementation of health-promoting measures in life and control of this process both individually and in work with different groups of clients: children, working adults, the elderly using the methods available to the physiotherapist.
1.Will be able to analyse and justify the role of health promotion and prevention in the professional activities of a physiotherapist and will be able to apply acquired skills in practice by creating health promotion and prevention programmes within the scope of their professional activities.
