Objective

To ensure the acquisition and development of theoretical knowledge on taking homoeopathic anamnesis and practical skills of taking homoeopathic anamnesis in accordance with the requirements of the homoeopathy specialty regulation.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.During the time allotted for the study course, the medical resident obtains knowledge about the following:
• components of clinical case analysis;
• styles and methods of consulting;
• the importance of the layout of the consultation area;
• holistic approach to taking anamnesis;
• understanding the patient’s individuality;
• the importance of applying the principles of homeopathic symptomatology to anamnesis taking;
• key features of taking anamnesis in acute cases;
• key features of taking anamnesis in patients who are unable to talk
• understanding of the role of third parties (people close and known to the patient);
• understanding of the value of conventional nosology knowledge;
• the role of conventional diagnosis and case management;
• rules of clinical case documentation;
• documenting the case history of an acute illness.

Skills

1.• communication skills and the ability to listen attentively to details about the patient;
• follow Hahnemann’s instructions for taking anamnesis;
• empathy and observation skills, accurate, structured note-taking;
• ability to adapt counselling styles and techniques to the individuality and circumstances of the patient;
• ability to carry out the physical examination in an appropriate manner;
• homoeopathic thinking skills;
• ability to accumulate information about a patient over a long period of treatment, recording it in the chronological order of acquisition thereof;
• skills in keeping the patient's anamnesis for continuity of care and maintenance of clinical standards, as well as in documenting anamnesis in case of acute conditions;
• to spot and record changes in the disease process;
• to interpret the effects of non-specific therapeutic counselling;
• digital skills – use homeopathy computer software.

Competence

1.• thorough and complete case anamnesis taking;
• to demonstrate understanding and ethical responsibility and involve a third party where necessary;
• to obtain, interpret and take into account information from clinical tests and other examinations in order to select treatment tactics;
• to integrate the knowledge and skills required to take a homoeopathic anamnesis, repertorisation with subsequent selection of a homoeopathic medicine to ensure the safe management of the patient’s case;
• able to observe and think objectively, without bias.
