Latvian Conversation in a Medical Setting for International Students - Level 1 (VC_149)
About Study Course
Objective
To learn the basic vocabulary and conversation skills necessary to interview a patient efficiently: body parts, most common complaints, and most common sentence structures. Simulated situations will be included in the learning process so students are ready ta talk to the patient in the hospital.
Prerequisites
Having completed the mandatory Latvian course (2 semesters) but no additional Latvian courses.
Learning outcomes
1.On successful completion of the course students will be able to use the basic vocabulary of medical conversation: body parts, sensations, most common symptoms.
1.On successful completion of the course students will be able to formulate questions in simple Latvian and grasp the point of the answer about the most common medical complaints.
1.On successful completion of the course students will be able to use the skills they gained in their basic Latvian course to interview patients about the most common complaints.
