Objective

To provide knowledge of mental health, its nature, formation of the basics, differential diagnostics criteria for psychiatric and psychosomatic disorders and illnesses.

Prerequisites

Knowledge of the anatomy of the nervous system, histology and physiology.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

On successful completion of the study course students are able to define mental health concepts, the nature and role of the general state of health preservation, identification of its preventive role for somatic disease etiopathogenesis, also students are able to analyse its role in the medical profession, the therapeutic relationship building process with patients.

Skills

On completion of the study course students will be able to analyse the mental health criteria to recognize them in clinical practice, will be able to discuss the knowledge of mental health essential role in human health and in quality of life assurance.

Competence

Interpretation of mental health and mental disorder concepts.
