Objective

To provide an opportunity to learn the planning, organisation, management of recreational events and to become acquainted with the relevant laws and regulations of the Republic of Latvia regarding the planning, organisation of events. To learn the specifics and peculiarities of organising and conducting recreational events.

Prerequisites

Preliminary knowledge of professional Bachelor in general theoretical study courses and basic sector-specific theoretical courses.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.1. Understands the importance of recreational activities for the restoration of a person’s physical, mental abilities, the process of building personality and social relationships. Understands the Latvian legislation in relation to the organisation and implementation of mass events.
2. Knows the types of recreational events and understands the choice of activities to be used in recreational events according to the age, physical fitness, type of occupation and interests of event participants.

Skills

1.3. Knows how to choose activities appropriate to the interests, age, physical fitness of the contingent of the recreational event, creates event scenarios. Knows how to plan, organise and implement recreational events.
4. Knows how to maintain a connection and cooperate with state and local government institutions in organising recreational events, attract, motivate participants of the event.
5. Knows how to work individually and in a team.
6. Knows how to create event content by choosing recreational tools, techniques and methods according to the customer contingent, environmental conditions and resources.
7. Knows how to create publicity for an event.

Competence

1.8. Skilfully assesses and analyses aspects and problems of the organisation and implementation of recreational events. Solves professional issues related to the planning, organisation and implementation of recreational events using the theoretical foundations and skills learned.
9. Skilfully plans and organises personal work.
10. Plans, organises and manages teamwork.
