Objective

To ensure the acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in nephrology and kidney replacement therapy, in accordance with the requirements of the regulations of the urology specialty, in order to prepare the doctor for certification in the urology specialty, in accordance with the regulatory documents of the Republic of Latvia.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.• Interpret ultrasonographic examination data in the differential diagnosis of nephrological pathologies (the examination results of 20 patients must be evaluated)
• Define knowledge about kidney parenchymal diseases.

Skills

1.• To carry out investigations nephrology patients
• To carry out renal ultrasonography
• Renal biopsy

Competence

1.• Theoretical knowledge of acute conditions and the pathologies caused nephrology clinic, their etiology, pathogenesis, symptoms, diagnosis, differential diagnosis.
• Theoretical knowledge of chronic kidney disease, the etiology, diagnosis, differential diagnosis, surgical and conservative treatment indications and technique.
• Nephrology clinic used diagnostic methods, instrumentation and hardware.
