Non-vascular Intervention in Musculoskeletal Diseases (RIR_037)
About Study Course
Objective
To teach medical residents to diagnose pathologies of the musculoskeletal system, to perform non-vascular invasive treatment.
Learning outcomes
1.After completing this course, the medical residents will know the advantages and disadvantages of visual diagnostic methods for biopsies of various tissues and organs. Indications for percutaneous ablation of soft and bone tissue formations. Spinal interventions including vertebroplasty. Medical residents will be familiar with tissue anatomy, the most suitable way of obtaining a tissue sample – aspiration/biopsy, indications, contraindications.
1.During the course, medical residents will learn to perform tissue biopsies, properly prepare material for delivery to the laboratory. Medical residents will be able to diagnose and treat complications (e.g., pneumothorax drainage, stopping haemorrhages). Will know how to perform spinal interventions – facet joint injections, percutaneous vertebroplasty. In-depth learning of the manipulations within the competence of the principal specialty of a radiologist is planned.
1.After completing the course, medical residents will be able to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills to perform tissue biopsies, percutaneous ablation of soft tissue and bone tissue formations, spinal interventions, vertebroplasty. They will be aware of possible complications, will be able to diagnose and treat them.
