Nonvascular Intervention in Musculoskeletal Disease (RIR_005)
About Study Course
Objective
Acquisition of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in non-vascular intervention in musculoskeletal disorders to prepare for the subspecialty of the interventional radiologist.
Learning outcomes
1.At the end of this course, residents will be aware of the advantages and disadvantages of visual diagnostic methods for biopsies of various tissues and organs. Indications for percutaneous ablation in soft and bone lesions. Spinal interventions including vertebroplasty. Residents know the anatomy, the most suitable way to obtain a tissue sample – aspiration/biopsy, indications, contraindications.
1.During the course, residents will learn to perform tissue biopsies, properly prepare material for delivery to the laboratory. Residents will be able to diagnose and treat complications (e.g., pneumothorax drainage, cessation of hemorrhage). Will learn to perform spinal interventions – facial joint injections, percutaneous vertebroplasty. In-depth acquisition of manipulations that are within the competence of the radiologist's main specialty is planned.
1.Upon completion of the course, residents will be able to apply the acquired theoretical knowledge and practical skills to perform tissue biopsies, percutaneous ablation of soft tissue and bone tissue lesions, spinal interventions, vertebroplasty. Will be aware of possible complications, will be able to diagnose and treat them.
