About Study Course
Objective
To acquire the skills to identify the phenotype of the patient for which orofacial myofunkcionala therapy is indicated, to understand the main principles of orofacial myofunctional therapy, to be able to plan the course of orthodontic and orthognatic treatment in combination with orofacial myofunctional therapy. Acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills for the selection of the patient for the correction of the tongue frenulum, as well as for the conduct of the rehabilitation cycle before and after the correction of the tongue frenulum.
Learning outcomes
1.Knowledge of the etiology of clinically distinct orofacial myofunctional disorders, diagnostic methods and the importance of therapeutic continuity. Knowledge of anthropometric changes with successful orofacial myofunccionala therapy and failure. Knowledge and skills on the inclusion of orofacial myofunctional therapy in the orthodontic and orthognatic treatment plan. Evidence-based modern orofacial myofunctional therapy algorithm.
1.Will be taught to identify oropacial myofunctional disorders in different age groups. Perform a standardised orofacial myofunctional evaluation minutes. To be able to interpret the results of the measurements with clinical significance. Be able to plan consecutive stages of oropharyngeal myofunctional therapy according to planned orthodontic treatment.
1.Develop interdisciplinary treatment plans for patients with oropacial myofunctional impairment based on acquired diagnostic results. Know the conditions for successful orofacial myofunctional therapy and identify the potential risks of unsuccessful therapy early.
