Objective

To ensure the acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in pediatric neurosurgery in accordance with the requirements of the regulations of the specialty of neurosurgery.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.Resident acquires basic knowledge on treatment (both surgical and non-surgical) of pathologies in parts of human nervous system (including cortex, blood supply and bearing structures), including prevention, diagnostics and treatment in children, methods of diagnostics to be used in children’s neurosurgery.

Skills

1.Resident is able to assess the clinical manifestations of pathologies in parts of human nervous system (including cortex, blood supply and bearing structures) in children, justify the choice of tactics and apply the relevant neurosurgery methods of diagnostics and treatment.

Competence

1.The doctor, using the acquired knowledge and skills, is able to independently recognize and diagnose pediatric neurosurgical diseases, evaluate them, if necessary, involving the relevant specialist.
