Project Management in a Changing Environment: PRINCE2 and Agile (SZF_152)
About Study Course
Objective
To promote the acquisition of project management knowledge to achieve the company’s operational and strategic goals successfully. To promote the acquisition of project management skills based on Prince2 and Agile methodologies, as well as best practices in multinational companies in applying these techniques to develop and implement new products, services or other solutions in line with the needs and requirements of the company.
Prerequisites
The student must have basic knowledge of the activities of the companies as well as an understanding of the work organisation practices necessary for the implementation of solutions. This includes understanding how companies adapt to a dynamic and rapidly changing environment in response to market and technological changes. In addition, knowledge in defining the organisation’s long-term and short-term objectives would be desirable.
Learning outcomes
1.Students will acquire the following knowledge as a result of the course:
1. Able to define the nature of PRINCE2 and agile project management methodologies and compare their main differences.
2. Describe the lifecycle stages of the project and their objectives within THE FRAMEWORK OF PRINCE2 and agile methodologies.
3. Identify and describe the roles and responsibilities of team members in PRINCE2 and agile methodologies.
4. Describe how to develop a project high-level plan and phase plan and explain the principles of risk assessment and quality management under PRINCE2.
5. Explains how to develop a project vision, create a product backlog, evaluate team performance, and develop a slide plan within agile.
1.Students will acquire the following skills as a result of the course:
1. Evaluate and adapt project management approaches (PRINCE2 or agile) to suit specific business or project needs.
2. Plan and structure the development and implementation phases of the project taking into account the relevant methodological requirements.
3. Prepare project documentation according to PRINCE2 or agile requirements (e.g. project vision, high-level project plan, product backlog, tile plan, etc.).
4. Risk management, quality control and monitoring methods shall be applied during the implementation of the project.
5. Plan a project team, communicate and collaborate with stakeholders, promoting effective teamwork.
1.Students will develop the following competences as a result of the course:
1. Able to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical solutions by making informed decisions on the choice and application of the most appropriate project management approach (PRINCE2 or agile), according to the needs and strategic objectives of the enterprise or organisation.
2. Is able to develop a project from an idea to a realization plan, as well as to formulate and structure business requirements according to the needs of the project.
3. Be able to plan the progress of project development and implementation, identify risks and quality gaps in the project, as well as make the necessary improvements to achieve the project objective.
4. Be able to operate effectively within the project team, working with different stakeholders and adapting to changing circumstances.
5. Be able to discuss the best solutions to achieve the project objective, identify challenges in the project team and facilitate the implementation of improvements.
