Objective

To develop knowledge about psychosomatic processes and their effects to different human organ systems, to develop skills and competences to evaluate the dates of patient lives and illnesses, and dates from patient disease history, to develop skills and competences to evaluate difficulties to work with patients of psychosomatic disorders.

Prerequisites

Biological basics of psyche, Personality psychology, Clinical psychology, Psychiatry and psychopharmacology, Developmental psychology, Individual consulting and psychotherapy

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

Students explain the major theoretical concepts of psychosomatic medicine; explain the role of defenses in the process of illness; describe and assess data of anamnesis; recognize and analyse the psychodynamic processes of illnesses of various organ systems.

Skills

Students collect data of anamnesis; evaluate interaction of social and psychic factors role for different psychosomatic disorders or illness; evaluate potential difficulties/problems at work with psychosomatic patients.

Competence

Students analyse patient’s history of diseases from psychosomatic viewpoint; logically formulate and interpret the data, when describe patient's case.
