About Study Course
Objective
To ensure the acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in psychotherapy, in accordance with the requirements of the regulations of the specialty of sexologist, sexopathologist, in order to prepare the doctor for certification in the specialty of sexologist, sexopathologist, in accordance with the regulatory documents of the Republic of Lithuania.
Learning outcomes
1.Demonstrates in-depth and expanded knowledge and understanding of the levels of psyche functioning; psychotic, borderline, neurotic; psychic defense mechanisms: primitive, mature; defense mechanisms of psychotic personality functioning level, borderline personality functioning level defense mechanisms, neurotic personality functioning level defense mechanisms. Understands questions about mental health criteria; manifestations of psychotic personality functioning level in psychopathology, borderline personality functioning level manifestations in psychopathology; manifestations of the level of neurotic personality functioning in psychopathology; Possible sexual disorders in psychotic, borderline, neurotic functioning personalities. Demonstrates knowledge of personality theories: Z.Freud's theory of psychoanalysis, Z.Freud's topographical and structural model of the psyche; theory of psychosexual development, infantile sexuality, phases of psychosexual development, the Oedipus complex and its manifestations in norm and pathology, K.G. Jung's analytical theory, the main concepts of the personality structure of K.G. Jung's theory, theories of object relations (M. Klein's theory on the formation of schizoid-paranoid and depressive positions, M. Mahler's theory of separation-individuation. H. Kohut's theory of "self" psychology). Knows personality structures: antisocial personality, paranoid personality, schizoid personality, dependent personality, obsessive-compulsive personality, depressive personality, masochistic personality, hysterical personality. There is knowledge about sexual disorders in patients with different personality structures. Knows the issue of types of psychotherapy: psychoanalysis, psychodynamic psychotherapy, supportive psychotherapy, cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy. Understands the peculiarities of psychotherapy with victims of sexual abuse - children and adults.
1.Performs clinical psychodynamic diagnosis of psychiatric and psychosomatic diseases; differentiates the norm from mental pathology, empathically and sensitively interviews psychotherapeutic patients, is aware of the importance of therapeutic relationships in psychotherapy; evaluates and plans the type of treatment of the patient (type of psychotherapy); able to assess the impact of family relationships and social conditions on the patient; is aware of the basic principles of multidisciplinary team work and knows how to participate in it.
1.Apply the acquired knowledge, skills and attitude to therapeutic work, research activity, public educational work in the mass media, have an understanding of team (group) work, its functioning, psychodynamics, crisis situations, their resolution; psychodynamic processes in sexological patients. Plans, organizes and treats psychotherapeutic patient care; evaluation of treatment results. Follows the principles of medical deontology.
