Objective

Students must gain knowledge about the theoretical foundations of qualitative analytical chemistry and methods of qualitative analysis of inorganic substances and the use of these methods in practice.

Prerequisites

Mathematics (within the scope of the secondary school curriculum), General and Inorganic Chemistry (within the scope of the previous course "Inorganic Chemistry")

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.Upon successful completion of the course:
- knowledge of the chemistry of inorganic compounds will be strengthened;
- methods of qualitative analysis of inorganic substances, their content and theoretical foundations will be mastered;
- an understanding of the application possibilities of qualitative analytical methods will be gained.

Skills

1.At the end of the study course, the student shall be able to:
- perform qualitative analysis of inorganic substances;
- to be used in practice in the analysis of qualitative medicinal substances;
- evaluate the results of the analysis.

Competence

1.As a result of the successful study course, the student will be able to:
- recommend and justify the best qualitative methods of analysis for the analysis of inorganic chemicals;
- qualitatively detect the presence of impurities in substances.
