Objective

To teach to choose the most optimal radiological examination method, based on the patient's individual needs, clinical information, medical history. To train to interpret radiological examinations. Introduce in the modern methods for radiological examination.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.Knowledge about different radiological examination methods, radiation safety and protection.
Knowledge about the impact of radiation on human body.
Knowledge about normal radiological anatomy, pathologies, which can be diagnosed using radiological methods.
Modern radiological examination methods. Justification and application possibilities of computed tomography and nuclear magnetic resonance.

Skills

1.To know how to prescribe proper radiological examinations.
To perform examinations which are radiologically safe for the patient and personnel.
To be able to evaluate radiological images: judge the quality of radiographs and recognize pathological findings.
To be able to diagnose different pathologies in the maxillofacial region based on radiological changes.

Competence

1.To prescribe a proper radiological examinations for the clinical situation. To use obtained results in selection of treatment methods and in the course of treatment. To know radiation protection and patient selection criteria. To evaluate and improve the quality of radiological images for orthodontic needs.
