Sensory and Motor Neurophysiology II (RNZ_018)
About Study Course
Objective
To ensure acquisition and improvement of theoretical knowledge and practical skills in understanding and evaluation of the electromyographic/neurographic examination.
Learning outcomes
1.Demonstrates profound knowledge of electrophysiological mechanisms, the acquisition and interpretation of sensory and motor neurophysiology test results relevant to sub-specialty requirements. Defines electrophysiological and clinical meaning and manifestations of different diseases caused by functional disorders and comorbid conditions. Interpreting clinical and sensory and motor neurophysiology findings, is able to analyse them and draw conclusions.
1.Applies diagnostic skills of sensory and motor neurophysiology examinations for the assessment of diseases and functional disorders, performs them independently and/or under the supervision of a certified specialist, performs practical manipulations provided for in the programme.
The skills to be acquired can be realized both in study course I and II, reaching the total number (the number indicated applies to both years combined).
1.Formulates and critically analyses sensory and motor neurophysiological examinations and obtained results, evaluates studies in the area of fundamental and applied neurophysiological science, conducts necessary additional analysis if a decision needs to be substantiated, demonstrates understanding and ethical responsibility for the result of neurophysiologist’s professional activity.
