Objective

Develop the professional competences of the student in the acquisition of orienteerind and nordic walking techniques, teaching methodology, ensuring safety and planning of the learning process for different target groups.

Prerequisites

Orienteering acquired, as a sports foreground at secondary school level. Knowledge of foreign languages at a sufficient level to understand the specialised literature, in English and also in Latvian. Orienteering skills and the ability to read a map and understand scale are desirable.

Knowledge

1.Name and explain basic orienteering and Nordic walcing terms in Latvian and English.

Skills

1.Demonstrates basic orienteering skills (map orientation, direction determination, map reading, distance determination)

Competence

1.Plan, manage and evaluate an orienteering or Nordic walking lesson tailored to the needs of the target group.
