About Study Course
Objective
To teach about the design and interpretation of epidemiological studies and the statistical methods. This course is intended to be an intensive introduction to epidemiology and medical statistics and by completion of the course the students are expected to understand the common pitfalls associated with study design, be able to choose the most appropriate analytical methods to verify stated hypotheses and feel confident to undertake basic statistical analysis.
Learning outcomes
1.Knowledge about acquisition of data, designs of study, types of data and basic statistical methods.
Understanding about statistical and clinical significance.
Systematic review and meta analysis.
1.Will be able to recognise the type of data and to choose an appropriate statistical method;
Perform simple statistical analysis;
To test the hypothesis;
To interpret the results of statistical tests.
1.Will be competent to perform statistical analysis of data using simple statistical methods.
