Objective

To provide the possibility for the students of the Faculty of Medicine to acquire knowledge about important neurological diseases not covered in the basic neurology course.

Prerequisites

Apprehension of nervous system anatomy and physiology. Knowledge from clinical courses in internal diseases and infectious diseases and knowledge from basic course in neurology.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

On completion of the study course students demonstrate an in-depth and in-depth knowledge and understanding of neurological diseases and syndromes included in the study course programme as well as demonstrate ability to operate in an interdisciplinary society.

Skills

On successful completion of the study course students will be able to:
Evaluate the opportunity to use neurological examination tests. Interpret the results of these tests.
Present neurological symptoms and pathogenetical aspects of neurological syndromes.

Competence

On successful course sompletion students will be able to formulate and critically analyse the symptoms of neurological syndromes included in the study programme, will be able to choose neurological tests for diagnosis. Will be competent in diagnosis and care of neurological disorders included in the programme.
