Objective

To provide students with opportunities to acquire theoretical knowledge and practical skills in the field of traumatology and orthopaedics, so that the doctor is able to help independently and give adequate care in accordance with the regulatory enactments of the specialty.

Learning outcomes

Knowledge

1.Able to demonstrate the acquired knowledge by:
a) explaining the process of examination and treatment used in each particular case;
b) describing the principles of their own particular actions;
c) evaluating the treatment process, its results and prognosis;
d) listing and naming the required rehabilitation process.

Skills

1.Will be able to:
a) examine a patient with musculoskeletal injury and disease;
b) make a proper diagnosis after gathering objective and additional data;
c) choose and apply a proper treatment method.

Competence

1.Based on the knowledge acquired, the students will be able to:
a) describe and characterise different types of trauma and related diseases;
b) describe different treatment methods, compare and evaluate them;
c) define and explain different symptoms used in the specialty;
d) compare and evaluate the results of different treatment methods.
