About Study Course
Objective
To provide students with and improve their theoretical knowledge and practical skills in traumatology and orthopaedics in accordance with the requirements of the surgery speciality regulations in order to prepare the doctor for certification in surgeon’s speciality.
Learning outcomes
1.- Detailed theoretical knowledge on aetiology, pathogenesis, symptoms, diagnostics, differential diagnostics of injuries and diseases of the supporting and motor apparatus, as well as indications for conservative and surgical treatment must be mastered.
- Aetiology, pathogenesis, symptoms and progress of injuries and most common diseases of the supporting and motor apparatus.
- Diagnostic methods used in traumatology and orthopaedics.
- Emergency medical assistance and treatment principles of bone fractures in the supporting and motor apparatus.
- Principles of treatment of acquired and congenital orthopaedic diseases in adult patients.
- Types of thermal injuries, their progress, treatment principles.
- Most common complications in patients with injuries and diseases of the supporting and motor apparatus, their symptoms, causes, treatment principles.
1.- To examine a patient with an injury and disease of the supporting and motor apparatus.
- To interpret the results of diagnostic methods (clinical analyses, radiological, cytological and microbiological) and examinations used.
- To deliver skilful first and emergency medical assistance to patients with injuries, diseases and thermal injuries of the supporting and motor apparatus.
- To draw up an examination and treatment plan for patients with injuries and disease of the supporting and motor apparatus.
- Technique of extreme punctures.
- To be able to orientate oneself in the selection of treatment possibilities for patients with injuries and diseases of the supporting and motor apparatus.
