About Study Course
Objective
To teach students practical and theoretical basics of abdominal, thyroid and vascular ultrasound examination, as well as pathologies of those organs by using GE and Esaote ultrasound machines and ULTRASIM simulator in the Medical Education Technology Centre (METC).
Prerequisites
Human physiology and anatomy, internal diseases, successfully completed course “Basics of Radiology”.
Learning outcomes
1.Upon completion of the course, students will have acquired extensive knowledge of ultrasound scan of the abdominal organs, thyroid and vascular basics, and the ultrasound imaging of the most common pathologies of these organs.
1.Practical skills in using ultrasound machine and the Ultrasim simulator. Use of various ultrasound probes. Determining normal anatomy of organs during ultrasound examination. Ultrasound diagnosis of pathological changes.
1.Students are competent to use the acquired knowledge and practical skills in abdominal, thyroid and basics of vascular sonography in the simulated clinical environment.
