Assessment
Unaided Work:
Independent learning of the basics of ultrasound scan and clinical case methodological material on e-learning environment. Familiarize yourself with the clinical data of the patient, laboratory findings and medical history. Advanced ultrasound imaging of the investigated organ with image interpretation and annotation.
Assessment Criteria:
The completion of the course will be assessed according to the OSCE standards: participation in the ultrasound visualization of the abdominal and thyroid clinical cases, in discussions and clinical case studies. Attendance of classes is compulsory. The end note will consist of following parts: class attendance (15%) + theoretical tests (45%) + practical skills assessment (40%).
Final Examination (Full-Time):Exam
Final Examination (Part-Time):
Learning Outcomes
Knowledge:Upon completion of the course, students will have acquired extensive knowledge of ultrasound scan of the abdominal organs and thyroid and the ultrasound imaging of the most common pathologies of these organs.
Skills:Practical skills in using ultrasound machine and the Ultrasim simulator. Use of various ultrasound probes. Determining normal anatomy of organs during ultrasound examination. Ultrasound diagnosis of pathological changes.
Competencies:Students are competent to use the acquired knowledge and practical skills in abdominal and thyroid sonography in the simulated clinical environment.
