Academics are often told to 'publish or perish'. Publishing is an important part of the life of any scholar, and so it’s important to start early in order to participate fully in the life of the academic community. Yet, where to start and how to start?

The lecturer

Dr Natalie K. Watson is an Acquisitions Editor in the Social Sciences at World Scientific Publishing and has many years of experience of working in publishing. As a published writer in her own field of theology, she has experienced publishing from both sides of the fence. In this seminar, she introduces the world of publishing and of preparing work for publication, talks about how to find the right places to publish, and offers a brief masterclass in preparing a book proposal.
