Laboratory of Tumour Clinical and Genetic Research
Summary of scientific activities on the RSU Research Portal
The Institute of Hereditary Cancer was founded in 2001 by Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) in collaboration with Prof. Jan Lubinski (Pomeranian Medical University, Szczecin, Poland). Its first director was Prof. Jānis Gardovskis. As its activities and research areas expanded, the institute was renamed the Institute of Oncology in 2012. After the consolidation of RSU in 2024, the Institute of Oncology and Molecular Genetics was established and the legacy of the Institute of Oncology was taken over by the Laboratory of Tumour Clinical and Genetic Research of the newly established institute.
The Laboratory of Tumour Clinical and Genetic Research is involved in national and international grants, cooperation programmes, research projects and clinical trials, and provides support for students, residents, and doctoral students in their research work.
