On 27 August, the CLiViE pop-up exhibition was officially opened at the Faculty of Social Sciences of Riga Stradiņš University. The exhibition remained on display until 16 September, offering students, researchers and other visitors the opportunity to explore the role of cultural literacy in promoting social inclusion and social cohesion.

CLiViE (Cultural Literacies’ Value in Europe) is an international research project that seeks to deepen understanding of the value of cultural literacy and its contribution to social cohesion. The project develops and applies a Theory of Change (ToC) methodology and a Social Return on Investment (SROI) framework to assess the impact of arts-based education across different learning environments.

The exhibition introduced visitors to the project's objectives, research approach and key activities. It highlighted how arts-based educational practices can foster cultural literacy, social justice, inclusion and meaningful participation among young people.

Visitors were also invited to participate in the exhibition’s interactive section. By scanning a QR code, participants could share their views on art and arts-based education through video or voice recordings. These contributions support the project’s efforts to better understand how people across Europe perceive the role of art in education and society.

Throughout the exhibition period, students and researchers visited the display to gain insights into cultural literacy, arts-based education and innovative research methodologies being developed within the CLiViE project. The exhibition provided a valuable platform for learning, discussion and engagement with contemporary European research on culture and education.

Funded by the European Union’s Horizon Europe programme, CLiViE brings together a multidisciplinary consortium of 13 partners from eight European countries.
