For RSU Employees

On 15 November, the Minister of Health Ilze Viņķele presented certificates of appreciation from both the Ministry of Health and the Cabinet of Ministers to officials and professionals working in public health, healthcare and pharmacy in recognition of their contribution to the development of the Republic of Latvia. Among them were three employees of Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) who received Certificates of Appreciation of the Ministry of Health.

  • Professor Aivars Lejnieks – a leading specialist of internal medicine at Riga East Clinical University Hospital and a professor at the Department of Internal Diseases of the RSU Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Lejnieks received this recognition due to his contribution to public healthcare and the development and implementation of healthcare policy.
  • Assistant Professor Ināra Kalniņa – an assistant professor at the RSU Faculty of Rehabilitation, Kalniņa received this recognition for her long-standing work and contribution to the development of the field of occupational therapy and training of young professionals.
  • Andrejs Šķesters – a leading researcher at RSU Šķesters received recognition for his long-standing and significant contribution to research in the field of genetics and biomedicine.
