RSU participates in the European University Association conference
At the beginning of April, Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) participated in the annual conference of the European University Association (EUA), held at the House of Science of the University of Latvia. RSU participated in the plenary session "Universities and the Future EU Programmes for a Sustainable and Resilient Europe," represented by Vice-Rector for Science, Agrita Kiopa.
The forum brought together more than 300 leaders from Europe's leading universities to collectively address contemporary challenges. The theme of the conference, "Connecting the Dots on Sustainability and Resilience," was chosen to explore the role of universities in building a sustainable future both within academia and society.
The conference featured ten sessions in which experts discussed the importance of sustainability in the context of funding, digitalisation, academic careers, and university governance. The sessions also highlighted the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), presenting examples of how universities can implement them in practice. Participants explored how universities can strengthen their resilience while maintaining a strong connection to the broader community. This discussion was particularly prominent in dedicated sessions on knowledge security and the challenge of fostering an inclusive environment.
