RSU joins international project Sport-IE to foster innovation and entrepreneurship in sports education
Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) has joined the international project Sport-IE, which aims to strengthen innovation and entrepreneurship capacities in sports universities across Europe. By 2030, the project plans to establish a platform that promotes collaboration between universities, the sports industry, and society, fostering health-promoting solutions and student-led start-ups with a focus on sports and well-being.
The lead partner of the project is the Norwegian School of Sport Sciences. The consortium brings together leading sports universities and companies from Latvia, Germany, Luxembourg, Lithuania, Estonia, Norway, and Romania. RSU represents Latvia in the project.
The project will enhance the ability of students and universities to lead innovation by creating an environment that supports the development of new solutions for public health, the promotion of physical activity, and interdisciplinary collaboration. Special attention will also be given to inclusive approaches and making activities accessible to all segments of society.
Sport-IE is supported by the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), particularly through its EIT Health and EIT Digital programmes, in line with the EU objectives in improving health, promoting economic growth, and fostering sustainable development.
