Requirements

  • Doctoral scientific degree
  • At least 6 years of academic work experience
  • Internationally recognized research activities (scientific publications issued in international peer-reviewed journals in the last 3 years)
  • Valid expert status from the Latvian Council of Science
  • Knowledge of the regulatory legal acts governing higher education and scientific activities
  • Experience in a managerial position is preferred
  • Good communication skills
  • Excellent Latvian and good English language skills (at least B2 level according to the Europass self-assessment table)
  • High-level digital skills
  • Ability to build a team, initiative, and responsibility

Responsibilities

  • Developing and ensuring the quality of the implementation of study courses within the department
  • Developing and maintaining excellence in scientific research within the department, including ensuring the development of scientific publications and international projects
  • Organizing departmental work according to the requirements of internal and external regulatory documents
  • Planning, managing, and organizing work within the department, setting departmental goals, delegating tasks to employees, analyzing and evaluating employee performance
  • Promoting and organizing collaboration with other departments
  • Conducting personnel planning and development to ensure sustainable operation and succession of qualified personnel
