On 22 January 2026, an international seminar The Human Side of Professional Careers took place at Rīga Stradiņš University (RSU) within the framework of the (R)E-TIES project, focusing on the human dimension of professional mobility.

During the seminar, researchers shared insights from mobility studies across different sectors, with particular emphasis on the challenges faced by professionals in highly competitive environments, where job requirements and market dynamics often necessitate relocation and changes in place of residence. Discussions explored how such transformations affect people’s social networks, everyday lives, and emotional processes, as well as ways to make these processes more human-centred and supportive.

The seminar brought together RSU researchers, including the (R)E-TIES project lead Ieva Puzo and researcher Olga Cara. The event was organised by the RSU Social Sciences Research Centre in cooperation with the UCL Institute of Education.
