The Great Hall is a place where many academic and social events take place, for example, enrolment and graduation ceremonies, scientific conferences, inauguration and anniversary celebrations, concerts and other events.

The Great Hall will consider all offers for cooperation – it is possible to organise educational and cultural events, as well as corporate events there.

Technical capabilities

Significant advantages of the Great Hall include its excellent acoustics and multifunctional design. Built to a high acoustic standard, it is well suited to both classical and contemporary music, as well as acoustic performances by soloists and orchestras.

The hall and stage are equipped with adjustable lighting, which can be controlled from the stage. Spotlights can be operated manually or pre-set in advance, depending on the requirements of the event.

The facilities
  • The Ecclesia D450 digital organ by Dutch manufacturer Johannus (the largest in the Baltics)
  • A specially selected, resonant Steinway & Sons concert grand piano, stored in an enclosed room when not in use
  • High-quality sound and lighting systems, including one front light bar, two overhead light bars, and side lighting
  • Multimedia equipment: 6 m x 4 m (16:9) front projection screen
  • EPSON 15,000-lumen laser projector 
  • Seating capacity: 600
  • A modern simultaneous interpretation system, compatible with other systems used in Latvia 
  • Functional auxiliary spaces: rehearsal hall (91 m²), two dressing rooms (29 m² each), and technical rooms for sound (19 m²) and lighting (8 m²) engineers

Sound system

The sound system in the Great Hall has been designed to complement the hall’s excellent acoustics. It utilises high-quality KV2 Audio ESR215 wideband loudspeaker systems to ensure uniform stereo coverage throughout the hall. The system meets the requirements of a multifunctional venue and is suitable for conferences, small social events, corporate functions, and performances.

  • A wireless microphone for use with a height-adjustable lectern and rostrum
  • Wireless microphones for use in the hall and on stage
  • A set of microphones and stage equipment for amplifying small ensembles (classical, jazz, and pop)
  • A sound mixing console with remote control capability 
  • 4 CAT7 lines from the stage to the back of the hall 
Lighting system

The stage lighting system is designed as a versatile solution for a wide range of applications, including conferences, concerts (classical and contemporary), and corporate events. The setup is based on automated lighting equipment and conventional (static) stage luminaires, intended for stage illumination and highlighting conference speakers.

Technical features

  • Both the hall and the stage are equipped with dimmable lights, controlled via the stage lighting console 
  • Stage spotlights can be controlled manually or via pre-programmed settings on the lighting operator’s console, depending on requirements

The lighting and sound control systems provide professional-level technical capabilities.

Interpretation system
  • Bosch wireless interpretation system, with one interpreter booth and two workstations
  • Simultaneous interpretation available in one language at a time
  • Interpreters can connect remotely via Zoom or other platforms
  • 20 wireless interpretation receivers available
